Regulations for the social studies exam.

Every year the FIPI reformed the demo version of the Unified State Exam in Social Studies. This time, the requirements and the essay grading system have changed somewhat (tasks 29). I propose to understand the innovations!

Changes to the Social Science Essay 2018

This is what the assignment looked like in 2017.

What has changed in the text of the assignment?

Let's figure it out.

  1. Form - mini-composition, no changes.
  2. The word problem (raised by the author of the quote) has been replaced with an idea. It is fundamentally? I think not, anyway it is those thoughts that arise when comprehending the author's quotation!
  3. The requirement to write several ideas is more clearly formulated (in 2017 - if necessary ...).
  4. They are also asked to rely on facts and examples from public life and personal social experience, examples from other academic subjects.
  5. Also estimated two examples from various sources.
  6. Requirement formulated more stringently detailed example and its clear connection to the idea.

That is, in fact, volume requirement changes (examples need to be expanded, several ideas need to be seen!) and let's just say, the essay really moves away from the genre of an easy and transparent essay, when it is not necessary to write out an example meticulously, it is enough to voice the idea. To a cumbersome essay, where all thoughts are ponderous, extremely clear and voiced. Probably, next year we will come to the rules of the number of words, as in other subjects, unfortunately

How is the essay checked now?

First of all, the number of criteria has changed. They became 4 instead of the previous three.

Criteria for checking assignments 29 essays on the exam 2017

Let's remind that in general one could get 5 points for a mini-essay (1-2-2). now this 6 the value of the essay continues to increase, learning to write it is a must in order to get the most important USE scores!

Let's take a look at the new and changed criteria!

Essentially, he has not changed, this is all also a disclosure of the meaning of the author's quote. And also, for non-disclosure, you will receive 0 not only by this criterion, but throughout the entire essay.

So, you need to find in the quote an idea (? Problem?) Related to the course and highlight the thesis (your complete thought on this statement), which you will further substantiate with information from the course and examples from social practice.

To be honest, I don't see anything new. Instead of the meaning of the author's quote, you write ...

Essentially the same criterion 2. Theoretical substantiation of the idea (problem) from the standpoint of scientific social science. terms, concepts, theories, conclusions of science on a given idea

So, let's break it down by new criteria ...

"The defense of law is the defense of the greatest social value."

(P.A. Sorokin)

Criterion 1. On its disclosure plays here:

The author touches on the problem protection of law, especially relevant in modern society.
In his opinion protecting the right is very important for society.
I cannot disagree with the opinion of the author, because law plays an important role in the life of any state, society and every person.

Specification
control measuring materials
to conduct a unified state exam in 2018
by HISTORY

1. Appointment of KIM USE

The Unified State Exam (USE) is a form of objective assessment of the quality of training of persons who have mastered educational programs of secondary general education, using standardized tasks (control measuring materials).

The Unified State Exam is conducted in accordance with the Federal Law of December 29, 2012 No. 273-FZ "On Education in the Russian Federation".

Control measuring materials allow to establish the level of mastering by graduates of knowledge and skills in the course of history in accordance with the requirements of the Federal component of state standards of secondary (complete) general education, basic and profile levels.

The results of the unified state examination in history are recognized by educational organizations of higher professional education as the results of entrance examinations in history.

2. Documents defining the content of CMM

3. Approaches to the selection of content and the development of the structure of CMM

The examination paper covers the content of the course on the history of Russia from antiquity to the present, with the inclusion of elements of general history (history of wars, diplomacy, culture, economic relations, etc.) and is aimed at identifying the educational achievements of graduates of secondary educational institutions.

CMM assignments include a significant layer of factual material. At the same time, special attention is paid to testing the analytical, information and communication skills of graduates. Attention is focused on tasks aimed at testing skills: to systematize historical facts; establish causal, structural and other relationships; use sources of information of different types (text source, table, historical map, illustration) to solve cognitive problems; to argue their own position using historical knowledge; to present the results of historical and cognitive activity in a free form with an orientation to the given parameters of activity. Orientation to the active activity of the examinees, as well as the involvement of a wide range of historical sources, problematic historical materials create

opportunities to identify graduates who are most focused on continuing their education in this profile. All of the above allows you to qualitatively differentiate the exam participants by their level of history training.

4. The structure of the KIM USE

Each version of the examination work consists of two parts and includes 25 tasks that differ in form and level of difficulty.

Part 1 contains 19 tasks with a short answer.

In the examination paper, the following types of tasks with a short answer are proposed:

  • tasks for choosing and recording one or more correct answers from the proposed list of answers;
  • tasks to determine the sequence of the arrangement of these elements;
  • assignments to establish the correspondence of elements, data in several information series;
  • assignments for the definition according to the indicated signs and recording in the form of a word (phrase) of a term, name, name, century, year, etc.

The answer to the tasks of Part 1 is given by a corresponding entry in the form of a digit or a sequence of numbers, written without spaces and other separators; the words; phrases (also written without spaces and other separators).

Part 2 contains 6 tasks with a detailed answer, identifying and assessing the development of various complex skills by graduates.

20-22 - a set of tasks related to the analysis of a historical source (attribution of the source; extraction of information; attraction of historical knowledge to analyze the problems of the source, the position of the author).

23-25 - tasks related to the use of methods of cause-and-effect, structural-functional, temporal and spatial analysis for the study of historical processes and phenomena. Task 23 is connected with the analysis of any historical problem, situation. Task 24 - analysis of historical versions and assessments, argumentation of various points of view using the knowledge of the course. Task 25 involves writing a history essay. Alternative task 25: a graduate has the opportunity to choose one of three periods of Russian history and demonstrate his knowledge and skills on the historical material he is most familiar with. Task 25 is assessed according to a system of criteria.

Table 1. Distribution of tasks by parts of the examination work

5. Distribution of KIM USE tasks by content, types of skills and methods of activity

The work is based on the requirements of the Historical and Cultural Standard, each section of which consists of the following components: a brief description of the period, including the main events, phenomena, processes; list of concepts and terms; list of personalities; List of sources; list of major dates. Each of the named parts carries a significant amount of information that is required for study at school. Special attention in the Historical and Cultural Standard is paid to the study of cultural issues. The concept of a new educational and methodological complex on Russian history, of which the Historical and Cultural Standard is a part, indicates the need to work with a historical map. It is also necessary to take into account the general patriotic orientation of the IKS, which, in particular, is manifested in the increased attention to the study of the history of the Great Patriotic War.

The specified requirements of the Historical and Cultural Standard became the basis for determining the structure of the examination work.

The Unified State Exam in Social Studies can be safely called the most popular among elective exams. Firstly, most of the schoolchildren consider this test simple, especially in comparison with the exact sciences. And secondly, a certificate with points for social studies is required for the humanitarian and social profile. Among the most demanded specialties are political science, sociology, cultural studies, law, psychology, economics, pedagogy, personnel management and management.

Many eleventh graders believe that this USE can be passed without preparation, having determined the correct answers on the basis of a logical approach, and in part of the essay simply expressing their thoughts. Let's say right away that such a mistake cost many schoolchildren a huge number of points. Social studies is a subject in which a simple knowledge of terminology is not enough. Only the ability to competently operate with concepts and an understanding of the deep essence of social, legal and philosophical concepts will help you successfully pass this USE.

In addition, the state examination in social studies presupposes a set of a fairly high primary score, and in recent years, tests with a choice of one answer from several proposed options have been completely removed from the tickets. However, all this is not a reason for panic! You just need to figure out what requirements are put forward by the members of the commission when evaluating the work, and also find out in time everything about the changes in the CMMs of 2018.

Demonstration version of the exam-2018

Dates of the exam in social studies

Rosobrnadzor will publish the final dates for the USE in social studies only in January, however, in preparation for the USE, schoolchildren can focus on the approximate periods of time allotted for testing:

  • the early stage of the exam will take place from mid-March to mid-April and starts on 03/22/2018;
  • the main examinations will begin at the end of May (05/28/2018) and will last until early June 2018;
  • the period for the additional delivery of the exam is scheduled for September 2018. Most likely, it will be possible to retake subjects from September 4, 2018.

Let us remind you that you can apply for the USE ahead of schedule:

  • schoolchildren who graduated from a general education institution (regular or evening school, lyceum, gymnasium) before the 2017/2018 academic year;
  • conscripts who decided to serve in the ranks before entering the university;
  • students entering a foreign university, changing their place of residence or coming to study from abroad;
  • children leaving for national or international competitions, contests and competitions of a sports, cultural or scientific nature. In this case, you will need not only an application, but a call to the training camp (or an invitation to an event) indicating the exact dates of its holding and the name of the student;
  • schoolchildren in need of treatment, recovery or rehabilitation on the dates of the main exam. In this case, a document issued by a medical council or commission must be attached to the application.

USE statistics in social studies

In 2017, social studies were chosen for themselves by 318 thousand students, i.e. about half of all schoolchildren who took the exam. However, after the exam was made more difficult, the number of those wishing to take social studies decreased markedly - as early as 2016, there were 40,400 more such schoolchildren. We also note that the share of children who could not score even the minimum passing score on this USE decreased markedly: in 2017, there were about 13.8% of such unsuccessful students, which is 3.3% lower than the level of 2016.

Nevertheless, in 2013 only 5.3% of students failed to pass this USE, and in 2011 - 3.9%. Teachers explain this by the fact that a few years ago schools began to abandon the practice of profile study of social studies, although it is mandatory for admission to 1/3 of Russian universities. The tasks become more difficult, and in the school curriculum social studies only take 1-2 lessons per week. Nevertheless, with an average score of 59.5-60.0, the number of children who scored the maximum points is growing - last year there were about 500 such gifted graduates.

When passing the Unified State Exam in Social Studies, the percentage of failures is quite high - 13.8%

Social Studies Exam Regulations

In 2018, students will receive 235 minutes to complete the exam card tasks. The regulations strictly prohibit bringing any foreign objects with you into the examination room. These include not only cheat sheets, but also smartphones, cameras, headphones, tablets, smart watches and any other equipment. And don't think that you can use any of the above list if you go to the toilet or the first-aid post! It will be possible to leave the audience only with an observer.

Remember: you can be taken out of the classroom and the test result canceled if you not only cheat, but also change seats, consult with neighbors, or turn your head to spy on the answer in someone else's work. About 20,000 supervising teachers will keep order in the examination rooms, and hardly anyone will be able to hide from their watchful gaze.

The structure and content of the ticket

This discipline studies all sorts of aspects of the life of modern society. Schoolchildren will have to demonstrate their knowledge in the following sections:

  • "Human and society"... This section studies the biosocial evolution of people, modern society, factors and stages of socialization, the principles of the functioning of society and the place of the individual in social relations;
  • "Social relations"- here it will be necessary to demonstrate an understanding of the problems of interaction between various social groups, knowledge in the field of conflict management and the systemic structure of modern society;
  • "Economy"- one of the most difficult blocks of the exam. Students will have to show their skills in reading charts, knowledge of entrepreneurship and market economy, the ability to calculate economic indicators and analyze information;
  • "Right". This section will require you to be able to operate with the laws of the Russian Federation, an understanding of various branches of law and the specifics of the regulation of legal relations, including the basic norms and mechanisms;
  • "Politics". In this section, you need to demonstrate an understanding of modern government, political regimes and institutions.

In KIMs in social studies, there are no tasks for choosing one answer from the options provided. Basic-level assignments will test the ability of students to recognize, reproduce, extract, classify, organize and compare information, assess it and explain trends. In tasks of an increased level of complexity, you will need to show your skills in complex cognitive activities. The ticket, consisting of 29 tasks, is structurally presented in two parts:

  • part 1 - consists of 20 tasks, for which you need to give a short answer in the form of a word, a few words or numbers. 10 tasks refer to the basic level of difficulty, 10 more tasks - to the increased one. For this part of the work, you can get 35 primary points, which is 54.7% of all points for the test;
  • part 2 - consists of 9 tasks, for which you need to give a detailed answer. Tasks numbered 21 and 22 are basic, and numbers 23 to 29 are tasks with increased difficulty. For this part, you can get 29 points (45.3% of all points). This part also includes writing a short essay on one of 5 topics given by the student's choice.

Innovation in new CMMs

The social studies exam did not undergo significant changes in the content, however, some structural aspects were optimized.

  1. Changed the grading system for task number 28;
  2. The wording of the task at number 29 was revised, changes were made to the system of its assessment;
  3. The maximum number of primary points per ticket has been increased by 2 points and is now 64.

Preparation for the exam in social studies includes the development of a number of disciplines. Among them are political science, economics, sociology and law.

How do points translate into grades for a certificate?

In 2018, the points received for the exam will have an impact on the final grade in the certificate. Students who want to go to college or simply raise their GPA should be well prepared for the exam. The distribution and transfer of points are made as follows:

  • 0-41 points on the Unified State Exam mean that the student “rubbed his pants” throughout the entire course of study. These points are equal to the grade "unsatisfactory";
  • 42-54 points indicate satisfactory knowledge. The graduate deserves a mark at the level of the school "troika";
  • 55-66 points is a good result, which is equivalent to a “good” mark;
  • 67 points and above mean that the student has passed the subject with excellent marks.

The minimum score you need to score to pass the test is 42, which is equal to 19 primary points. The experience of past years has shown that for this it is necessary to solve at least 13 basic tasks. The maximum number of points for the Unified State Exam is 100. As the statistics of last year show, in order to enter a university, you need to score at least 55 points in this subject. Alas, this does not guarantee you budget receipts. Only applicants who have a certificate with 84 or more points can apply for budgetary places in prestigious universities.

How to prepare for the exam?

Experts from FIPI say that the first thing that should be paid attention to when preparing is knowledge and understanding of the terms of such disciplinary blocks as economics, philosophy, law, sociology and political science. Very often the student cannot correctly solve the task, because he does not correlate it with a certain scientific field, while using the wrong method of analysis.

Another important point is the choice of methodological and educational sources. Today, many authors are trying to make money by publishing materials to prepare for the exam in certain subjects. But do not rush to buy everything! Choose books published in 2015-2017 and recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. FIPI experts recommend using the developments of L.N. Bogolyubov and A.I. Kravchenko.

Be sure to take the time to work through the demo version of the exam - this will help you understand the structure of the ticket, understand the requirements of examiners and reduce the time spent working with a real ticket. You can download the demo version of the Unified State Exam in Social Studies by following the links at the beginning of the article. In addition, specialists from the educational department determined the amount of time it would take to solve each of the proposed tasks:

  • tasks numbered 1-3 and 10 are solved on average in 1-4 minutes;
  • tasks numbered 4-9 and 11-28 require 2 to 8 minutes;
  • for task 29, you need to leave about 45-55 minutes.

What should you consider when preparing an essay?

Practice your essay writing often to create a decent essay

Writing a short essay is an exam task that causes the greatest difficulties for schoolchildren. This is because it requires both fundamental knowledge of the subject and the ability to competently and beautifully express your thoughts. The mini can be written on one of the five topics suggested in the ticket. The topic is formulated in the form of a statement made by a well-known representative in the field of public activity, politics, science or culture. There are a few things to keep in mind when writing an essay:

  • leave at least 50 minutes for this part of the work;
  • do not write a full-fledged essay on a draft - no one checks this form anyway. If you get too carried away with the rough work, then you may not have enough time to rewrite the text. Just jot down the thesis, which then form into a single whole;
  • do not rush to choose a topic - take only the one that will be easier for you to argue;
  • it is important to immediately determine which branch of knowledge your chosen topic represents. Pupils are not forbidden to express their thoughts, relying on several social sciences, but examiners really do not like it when essays are written in vague phrases and generalized formulations;
  • don't forget to make an introduction. It should focus on the urgency of the problem;
  • Demonstrate your knowledge by briefly describing the author of the statement. Describe other approaches to this problem, indicate alternative points of view or provide supportive statements;

Specification
control measuring materials
to conduct a unified state exam in 2018
on SOCIETY

Control measuring materials allow to establish the level of mastering by graduates of the Federal component of the state standard of secondary (complete) general education in social studies, basic and profile levels.

The results of the USE in social studies are recognized by educational institutions of higher education as the results of entrance examinations in social studies.

2. Documents defining the content of the KIM USE

3. Approaches to the selection of content, the development of the structure of the KIM USE

The main purpose of the exam is to assess the quality of the training of graduates of educational institutions of secondary general education in social studies.

The objects of verification are the skills, methods of cognitive activity, determined by the requirements of the Federal component of the state standard of secondary (complete) general education. The list of checked content elements is compiled on the basis of the section "Mandatory minimum content of basic educational programs" of the Federal component of state standards for basic general and secondary (complete) general education in social studies (basic and partly profile levels).

To achieve this goal, a set of tasks has been developed and used, which differ in nature, focus, level of complexity. It is aimed at differentiated identification of the training levels of students in the subject within the framework of a standardized test.

The model of examination work is based on an activity approach, which allows for a multidimensional test of a wide range of subject skills, types of cognitive activity and knowledge about society in the unity of its spheres and basic institutions, about the social qualities of an individual and about the conditions for their formation, about the most important economic phenomena and processes, politics and law, social relations, spiritual life of society. The content of the examination work reflects the integral nature of the social science course: in the aggregate, the tasks cover the main sections of the course, the basic provisions of various areas of social science.

KIM tasks differ in nature and level of complexity, which is determined by the way of cognitive activity necessary to complete the task. The implementation of CMM tasks involves the implementation of such intellectual actions as recognition, reproduction, extraction, classification, systematization, comparison, concretization, application of knowledge (according to a model or in a new context), explanation, argumentation, assessment, etc. Tasks of increased and high levels of complexity, in contrast to the basic ones, they provide, as a rule, cognitive activity that is complex in nature.

The basic principles for the selection of specific objects of verification include:

  • inclusion in the KIM USE of didactic units and basic skills formed when studying the course at the basic level, with the exception of those that are defined in the standard as being studied, but not subject to verification as part of the final certification, as well as requirements, compliance with which cannot be detected using the tools used (project activities, oral presentations, etc.);
  • uniform presentation in KIM of all content sections of the course, taking into account the degree of their disclosure in textbooks recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia for use in the implementation of state-accredited educational programs of secondary general education in 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and 2016-2018 academic years;
  • maintaining a balance between the formalized elements of knowledge and those verification components that require a freely constructed response.

In addition to general requirements and approaches, the main principles for selecting task models and forming the structure of CMM include:

  • the use of assignments of various types and levels of complexity to test the main objects, which allows the examiner to more fully demonstrate his level of mastery of this component of the content, skill, type of cognitive activity;
  • observance in each part of the work of the principle of a gradual transition from tasks of the basic level to tasks of the increased and higher levels.

The specificity of the subject and social and humanitarian knowledge as a whole is also taken into account when selecting sources of information used in the examination work. These are, as a rule, the results of sociological research, unadapted texts from publications of a popular scientific, socio-philosophical nature. For tasks to distinguish between judgments reflecting facts and evaluative statements, small texts are constructed, in style close to the information messages of the media.

4. The structure of the KIM USE

Each version of the examination work consists of two parts and includes 29 tasks that differ in form and level of difficulty.

Part 1 contains 20 tasks with a short answer.

In the examination paper, the following types of tasks with a short answer are proposed:

Tasks for choosing and recording several correct answers from the proposed list of answers;

The task of identifying the structural elements of concepts using tables;

The task to establish the correspondence of positions presented in two sets;

The task of differentiating facts, opinions and theoretical positions in social information;

An assignment to define terms and concepts appropriate to the proposed context.

The answer to the tasks of part 1 is given by the corresponding entry in the form of a word (phrase), number or a sequence of numbers written without spaces and separating symbols.

Part 2 contains 9 tasks with a detailed answer. In these tasks, the answer is formulated and written down by the examinee independently in an expanded form. The tasks of this part of the work are aimed at identifying graduates with the highest level of social science training.

The results of the tasks of Part 1 are processed automatically. The answers to the tasks in Part 2 are analyzed and evaluated by experts on the basis of specially developed criteria.
