Prospects for the development of the Department of Germanic languages ​​and methods of teaching them, developed in accordance with the federal state educational standard of higher professional education, include the main areas of activity, research work, which is currently being carried out by young teachers who are graduate students and applicants.

One of the prerequisites for increasing the efficiency of the organization of the educational process at the university in the discipline "Foreign language" is the replenishment of the educational and methodological room of foreign languages. Based on the main goal of educational and methodological work - improving the methods of teaching foreign languages ​​- it is planned to further develop educational and methodological complexes in English and German, publish educational and teaching aids, prepare didactic materials for distance learning.

In order to increase the level of pedagogical skills of the department teachers and improve the quality of teaching foreign languages, the department teachers annually participate in a professional skill competition, the work of the methodological linguistic section and methodological council, educational and methodological meetings, trial and open classes.

Within the framework of research activities, the teachers of the department prepare scientific articles and reports, summarizing the best practices of foreign countries concerning the problems of philology and methods of teaching foreign languages. The teachers of the department also take an active part in the work of international and interuniversity scientific and practical conferences, delivering reports on the effectiveness of the use of new pedagogical technologies in the process of teaching foreign languages. They are constantly working to improve their professional level and are actively engaged in research work in various areas of linguistics, methods of teaching foreign languages ​​and pedagogy, while studying in graduate school.

To achieve the set goals, it is planned to:

The Department of Foreign Languages ​​was established in September 1993. From the day of its foundation, the main activity of the department has been teaching students of various educational levels a foreign language and the basics of professional communication, and the key goals and objectives are to systematically improve the quality of teaching and increase the effectiveness of the learning process.

At the origins of the department was Ashurbekova Tatyana Ivanovna, who led the department of foreign languages ​​for more than twenty years. In different periods, such well-known scientists and teachers as Gadzhieva S.G., Abubekirova A.F., Rizakhanova Z.Z., Shakhbanova A.S., Mirzoeva Z.G., Ismailova E.A., Ubaidulaeva worked at the department. Sh.A., Guseinova L.D., Dzhamaeva A.B., Chekmareva V.A., Novikova E.B., Gadzhieva N.G., Sultanova S.E.

Today, the Department of Foreign Languages ​​is more than 20 specialists in the field of foreign language and language culture, skillfully combining in their activities both the traditional foundations of teaching a foreign language and innovative methods and technologies of mastering language literacy. The teachers of the department conduct classes in English, German and Chinese for students, masters and graduate students of the Faculty of Economics.

Students of different courses annually successfully participate in numerous Olympiads, competitions and conferences, confidently demonstrating knowledge in the field of professional English-language communication and effective multicultural interaction. Achievement of high results is facilitated by the practice-oriented orientation of curricula, modern teaching aids, interactive methods and close interaction with students.

Vision of the strategic goal of the department

The main strategic goal is to develop the Department of Business Informatics of the Financial University as a competence center for the implementation and management of information systems and technologies for training personnel focused on the implementation of the tasks of the digital transformation of the Russian economy, outlined in the Digital Economy Program adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation on 27.07. 2017, No. 1632-p.

The department considers its priority task to fulfill the educational task aimed at training competitive and ambitious specialists who are able to implement the tasks of transition to a new quality level for the Russian economy, provided with modern information technologies and systems.

Development of the educational process:

The work of the department in this direction includes:

1. Participation in the development and improvement of educational programs for bachelor's, master's, and postgraduate studies.

In connection with the beginning of the active phase of the implementation of the Program of the Government of the Russian Federation "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation", adopted on July 27, 2017 No. 1632-r (direction "Personnel and Education"), the demand for specialists in the development of information technologies and their management is increasing. In this regard, the initiatives of the Department of Business Informatics to expand its presence in the market of educational services in the direction of Business Informatics are obvious:

  • The department plans to carry out work over the next 5 years to expand the number of profiles for the direction of training bachelors 03/38/05 "Business Informatics" (2020 - the introduction of an additional profile).
  • The development of the international component in the educational process in the direction of preparation 04/38/05 "Business Informatics", focused on the creation of a "double degree" program with the University of Liechtenstein, will lead in 2019 to the creation of a new educational program. At the moment, active work is underway to coordinate educational programs and develop a concept for their implementation.
  • Organizational work on the creation of a master's program together with a Russian IT company, whose interests are in the field of training personnel for the industry. In 2019, it is planned to make changes to the curriculum of the current master's program "Information Technology Management in the Digital Economy": updating the disciplines, the implementation of which will be transferred to the company's experts;
  • Development of the Financial University's own standard in the direction of "Business Informatics" (bachelor's and master's degrees);
  • Annual adjustment of educational programs in terms of the composition and labor intensity of academic disciplines of the professional cycle, taking into account the results of a survey of employers, partners of the educational program and graduates.

2. Strengthening the practical aspect of the educational process, taking into account the real needs of organizations on the market, the department in the implementation of the following initiatives:

  • Passing Russian and international professional accreditation of educational programs for the preparation of bachelors and masters.
  • More active participation of representatives of the IT industry in the implementation of educational programs in the direction of "Business Informatics": continuation of the practice of concluding cooperation agreements (annually for 2-4 contracts), contracts for providing internship opportunities and internships (annually for 2-4 contracts); joint work with practitioners on the implementation of academic disciplines, preparation of practice-oriented tasks, including for state final certification; conducting master classes and short trainings for students with the possibility of obtaining certificates.
  • Creation of a platform at the Financial University for students to participate in the implementation of projects of business partners of the educational program in the direction of "Business Informatics" under the supervision of the department's teaching staff.
  • Participation of students in the activities of the basic departments (Career Accelerator BYTE ", professional contests of KPMG, internships and competitive programs of the 1C department).

3. Intensification of work on the preparation of textbooks, teaching aids in priority areas of development. Expanding the practice of preparing interdepartmental textbooks. Full methodological support of academic disciplines assigned to the department.

  • Continuation of the program for the preparation of a line of textbooks, workshops and teaching aids in the direction of "Business Informatics" together with the publishing houses "Yurayt", "INFRA-M" and "KnoRus" in the main professional disciplines of the educational program for the preparation of bachelors and masters (the end of the 1st stage of preparation of the entire pool textbooks - 2020). Currently, the Department of the Financial University is the only one among the universities in Russia to systematically approach the preparation of educational and methodological support for this educational direction.
  • Involvement in the development of textbooks for all levels of training of practitioners, focusing on the illustration of the theoretical aspects of management, implementation and promotion of information technologies by cases of real projects (2018 - Information technology business analytics, 2019 - Information technology management).
  • Preparation of joint textbooks with teachers of foreign universities (2018 - Information Technologies of Business Analytics, Economic Academy named after D.A. Tsenov, Bulgaria, Department of Business Informatics).
  • Implementation of initiatives for the preparation of textbooks and teaching aids on interdepartmental disciplines in conjunction with the Department of Psychology and Personnel Management, the Department of Management.

4. Intensification of work on the use of the following software products in the educational process

The department is currently continuing to actively work on the acquisition by the Financial University of the rights to use software from leading Russian and foreign vendors in educational and research projects. As a rule, having mutual interests, the Financial University receives from the vendor companies the right to use the software free of charge within the frameworks stipulated by the agreements. We continue to expand the line of software used by SAS (visual analytics technologies), SAP (software for supporting the company's business processes), Directum, Electronic office systems, ELMA (content management systems), 1C (solutions for supporting enterprise management). To support the educational process in the direction of "Business Informatics", we continue to cooperate with companies that provide solutions and methodologies for modeling and analyzing business processes, building enterprise architecture, designing information systems and project management.

The choice of software for studying by students of various educational areas goes through the stages of agreement with the heads of educational programs.

5. Strengthening control over the independent work of students through the use of various forms.

The increase in the importance of independent work, as a component of hours spent on mastering an academic discipline, is considered in the plane of improving the content of educational and methodological support for performing monitoring tasks provided for by the curriculum. An informal approach to the preparation of tasks for planned works should form other conditions for the preparation and protection of these tasks, as well as adjust the weight of the result of the work performed in the system of point-rating assessment of the student's knowledge during the semester.

6. Development and implementation of new educational technologies, as well as the continuation of the practice of spreading active and interactive forms of education.

Active participation in online learning associations in order to develop electronic courses in academic disciplines with modules for controlling the formation of knowledge and skills that meet the requirements of the educational services market and implement innovative techniques, technologies and software. Continuation of work on the development of an integration approach of classical and distance learning for full-time students.

7. Work on programs of additional professional education

The department has determined the directions of educational programs focused on the training of scientific and pedagogical workers, as well as educational programs for:

  • Possibilities of visual analytics technologies for the formation of interactive reporting of the organization.
  • Approaches to building knowledge management systems: organizational, behavioral and technological approaches.
  • Management of the activities of IT departments during the period of digital transformation.
  • The practice of introducing and using information technologies for content management.
  • Implementation of practice-oriented education in the direction of training "Business Informatics" (for branch universities and universities that implement the corresponding educational program).

The implementation of additional education programs is planned, including with the involvement of partners of the department working in specialized areas.

8. Expanding the participation of teachers in educational programs implemented in a foreign language, looking for ways to develop and expand cooperation with the departments of leading world universities, etc.

  • The department plans to continue participating in the implementation of educational programs for students of the International Finance Faculty in the discipline "Information technology in professional activity" and "Modeling of business processes."
  • The opening of the educational program "double diplomas" for the direction of training 04/38/05-Business Informatics (the level of preparation of masters) obliges the implementation of disciplines in a foreign language.

For the preparation of scientific papers, it is planned to study the problems of managing changes in business culture, business and IT strategies, business processes and other structural elements of an organization in the context of digital transformation of activities, as well as requirements for the competencies of personnel in solving problems of the transition period.

Working with faculties

The work with the faculties is based on the implementation of the “order” by the department for the implementation of academic disciplines included in the educational programs of the Faculties. An important aspect of this activity, the department sees the coordination of the expectations of faculties on the content of academic disciplines, including the study of professional applied information systems and technologies.

Interdepartmental cooperation

The main direction of interdepartmental cooperation is work on the coordination of the content of academic disciplines assigned to departments and departments and implemented in educational programs in the direction of "Business Informatics"; The key factor in the effectiveness of such cooperation, we see the openness of educational and scientific departments of the university to a dialogue on content and, in some cases, the methodology of the taught disciplines.

The presence of the faculty of the department of competencies in the field of application of information technologies creates conditions for conducting, at the request of departments, consulting and exchange of experience on the use of information technologies in the personal work of the CPD.

The presence of joint academic disciplines creates the basis for the preparation of joint textbooks and teaching aids, the development of methodological support for the educational process.

The department actively engages (and plans to maintain this trend) the teaching staff of other departments with the required competencies and experience to conduct scientific research, in which it initiates or leads them.

We see an important place in our work in this direction in the continuation of active interaction with the departments of the branches of the Financial University, where educational programs in the direction of "Business Informatics" are being implemented in order to monitor the quality of the learning process, exchange the accumulated experience through internships of the teaching staff of branches, joint videoconferences, access to scholars and teaching materials of the department.
