The demonstration version of the OGE in society is designed to enable any exam participant and the general public to get an idea of the structure of the examination work, the number and form of tasks, as well as their level of complexity.
The above criteria for assessing the performance of tasks with a detailed answer, included in the demo version of the examination work, will make it possible to get an idea of the requirements for the completeness and correctness of recording a detailed answer.
The examination paper consists of two parts, including 31 tasks. Part 1 contains 25 tasks with a short answer, part 2 contains 6 tasks with a detailed answer.
3 hours (180 minutes) are allotted for the performance of the examination work in social studies.
Answers to tasks 1–20 are written in the form of one digit, which corresponds to the number of the correct answer. Write this figure in the answer field in the text of the work, and then transfer it to the answer form No. 1.
The answer to tasks 21-25 is a sequence of numbers. Write the answer in the answer field in the text of the work without spaces, commas and other additional characters, and then transfer it to the answer form No. 1.
Part 2 includes the text and 6 tasks for it (tasks 26–31). To complete these tasks it is necessary: to select the necessary information from the text, to disclose (including by examples) its individual provisions; correlate information from the text with the knowledge gained during the course; apply existing knowledge to analyze social situations; express and substantiate their own opinion. Answers to the tasks of part 2 are recorded on the answer form number 2.
When completing assignments, you can use the draft. Draft entries do not count towards grading work.
The points received for the completed tasks are summed up.
Social science is a discipline that studies the features of the development of human society, the place of a person in the system of relations. The subject is at the junction of several sciences - jurisprudence, sociology, political science, ethics, philosophy, history and economics. Social science is divided into sections: knowledge, spiritual life, law, social relationships, a person in society and others. The OGE in social studies is not a compulsory subject for passing at the end of the 9th grade, but many choose it. The reason for the popularity of the subject is the relative ease of its content. Also, this discipline is one of the core disciplines if a student enters grade 10-11 with a humanitarian bias.
Social studies is a subject that the least number of schoolchildren does not cope with on the exam, which confirms the ease and accessibility of assignments. But this discipline has a number of features: you need to know the theory well (laws, terms, patterns, concepts), apply knowledge in practice, be able to formulate your own opinion and back it up with arguments.
Whether it will be difficult during the exam depends on the level of the individual student. The regularity of preparation and systematicity, diligence in schooling will allow you to pass the exam without much difficulty.
In the preparation process, it is important:
- Accuracy of wording;
- Knowledge of terminology and the ability to operate it;
- Ability to rationally allocate time to complete tasks;
- Free orientation in different sciences.
- The most important point is the clarity of the wording of the answer. In social studies, a lot of text about anything will not help. Specificity is very important. If a couple of lines are given per answer, it is necessary to display the essence concisely and informatively.

There are no changes in KIM 2018 in social studies in comparison with 2017.
The system for assessing the performance of individual tasks and examination work as a whole
Correctly performed work is estimated at 39 points. Each correctly completed task 1–21, 23–25 is estimated with 1 point.
Task 22 is evaluated according to the following principle: 2 points - no mistakes; 1 point - one mistake was made; 0 points - two or more mistakes were made.
The tasks of part 2 are evaluated depending on the completeness and correctness of the answer.
For complete and correct performance of tasks 26–28, 30 and 31, 2 points are given. If the answer is incomplete - 1 point.
For complete and correct completion of task 29, 3 points are given. In case of incomplete implementation, depending on the representation of the required components of the answer - 2 or 1 point.
Thus, for completing the tasks of part 2 (correct and complete formulation of answers to all six questions), the examinee can receive a maximum of 13 points.
The purpose of the demo version of the USE 2018 in social studies is to enable any exam participant and the general public to get an idea of the structure of future CMMs, the number of tasks, their form and level of complexity.

Changes in KIM 2018 in social studies compared to KIM 2017
The grading system for assignment 28 has been revised. The maximum score has been increased from 3 to 4.
The wording of task 29 has been detailed and the system of its assessment has been changed. The maximum score has been increased from 5 to 6.
The maximum primary score for completing all work has been increased from 62 to 64.
Duration of the Unified State Exam 2018 in Social Studies
The examination work takes 3 hours 55 minutes (235 minutes). The approximate time allotted for the completion of individual tasks is:
1) for each of tasks 1–3, 10 - 1–4 minutes;
2) for each of tasks 4-9, 11-28 - 2-8 minutes;
3) for task 29 - 45 minutes.

The structure of the KIM USE 2018 in social studies
Each version of the examination work consists of two parts and includes 29 tasks that differ in form and level of difficulty.
Part 1 contains 20 tasks with a short answer.
In the examination paper, the following types of tasks with a short answer are proposed:
- tasks for choosing and recording several correct answers from the proposed list of answers;
- the task to identify the structural elements of concepts using tables;
- the task to establish the correspondence of positions presented in two sets;
- an assignment to define terms and concepts appropriate to the proposed context.
The answer to the tasks of Part 1 is given by the corresponding entry in the form of a word (phrase) or a sequence of numbers written without spaces and separating symbols.
Part 2 contains 9 tasks with a detailed answer. In these tasks, the answer is formulated and written down by the examinee independently in an expanded form. The tasks of this part of the work are aimed at identifying graduates with the highest level of social science training. The results of the tasks of Part 1 are processed automatically.
The answers to the tasks in Part 2 are analyzed and evaluated by experts on the basis of specially developed criteria.
