? P. 161 How old are the brothers? Why do you think so?

Judging by the behavior of the children and the way the mother interacts with them, the boys are about 5-6 years old. They may already be alone at home, but mom can lift them both up and spin them like little ones. All the behavior of the boys (“Here, for joy, they began to jump, jump and tumble on the spring sofa”; “And so they talked for a long time, waving their arms, stomping, jumping up ...”) suggests that they are not yet very adults, that they are several years younger than third graders.

How long have they seen their father?

“… But when dad has not been at home for a whole year…”. One can clarify why Chuk and Gek did not see their father for so long: “There was a man in the forest near the Blue Mountains. He worked a lot, but the work did not decrease, and he could not go home on vacation. "

? Do you remember another story in which family members are separated by a great distance? Part of the family (who exactly?) Lives in Moscow, and the other part (who is this?) - in Kamchatka. Is there a similar situation in Arkady Gaidar's story?

This is the story of K. Paustovsky "Disheveled Sparrow", in which family members are also separated by a huge distance. Part of the family (mother, Masha and nanny Petrovna) also lives in Moscow, and the father lives and works very far away - in Kamchatka.

? with. 165 Are Chuck and Huck similar in temperament? Do you remember yourself at the age of 5-6? Which brother is more like you as a child?

From this fragment of the text it is already clear that the boys are somewhat similar, but their characters are different. They (like all boys) are interested in adventure, danger, weapons. Going to his father, who lived "in the forest near the Blue Mountains", "Chuk made himself a dagger out of a kitchen knife, and Huck found himself a smooth stick, hammered a nail into it, and it turned out a pike ...".

If we talk about the characters of the boys, then Chuk is calmer, more detailed, he collects valuable, from his point of view, things (“silver tea papers, candy wrappers, quills for arrows, horsehair for a Chinese trick ...”) in a tin box. Huck is more emotional, distracted and simple-minded: “Huck did not have such a box. Anyway, Huck was a lazy person, but he knew how to sing songs. " Chuk, unlike Huck, is very thrifty: "Chuk had a signal tin pipe in a cardboard box, three colored icons from the October holidays and money - forty-six kopecks, which he did not spend, like Huck, on various nonsense, but thriftly saved for a long journey" ... From these lines it is clear that Huck lives "here and now," and Chuk thinks about the future. Chuk is a year older than Huck, he is more reasonable and cunning. It was Chuk who suggested not to tell mom anything about the missing telegram.

Question: "Which of the brothers is more like you in childhood?" allows us to make the text of the story personally significant for us, to wake up the world of emotions, to create conditions for a comparative analysis of oneself with the heroes of the work.

- Chuk reminded me of the crow from the story "Disheveled Sparrow", - said Masha Ivanova.

? Do you understand what she meant? What is wealth for Chuk?

Masha Ivanova compares Chuk to the crow from the story "The Disheveled Sparrow", because he also collects and hides shiny pieces of paper, candy wrappers and other things, as the crow did.

Do Chuck and Geek understand that the telegram is a value? (Where did Chuk hide the telegram? Did the brothers look for it? Were they upset that they didn’t find it?) Why did the boys not say anything to their mother?

The boys understand that the telegram is very important. This is evidenced by the fact that Chuk hid the telegram in his tin box along with the things most valuable to him. From the way the boys were looking for the telegram, it is clear that they are aware of its value: “Chuk shouting:“ Telegram! Telegram! ”, In one coat, without galoshes and a hat, jumped out the door. Sensingsomething was wrong, Huck rushed after Chuk. " The brothers were upset when they did not find the telegram: "After returning home, Chuk and Gek were silent for a long time."

The boys did not say anything to their mother, because they were afraid of being punished (“They have already made up, because they knew that both of them would get it from their mother”). The brothers decided that if they simply did not say anything about the telegram, it would not be a hoax.

Is it possible in this case to say: "You can't do that!" Why?

In this case, you can say: “You cannot do that!”, Because any telegram may contain urgent, very important information, on which a lot depends.

? with. 168 Did you manage to learn anything new about the characters of Chuck and Gek? Which of them collects things, and which impressions?

Huck is very inquisitive, he is interested in everything that happens around him (“After washing and greeting his mother, Huck pressed his forehead against the cold glass and began to look at what this edge was, how people live here and what people do”). Chuk, on the other hand, prefers to communicate with people and replenish his collection with various gizmos ("... Chuk walked from door to door and got acquainted with passengers who willingly gave him all sorts of nonsense - some a rubber stopper, some a nail, some a piece of twisted string ..."). We can say that
Chuck collects things, and Huck collects impressions.

Whose eyes did you see the world through the carriage window? Is this an indifferent or interested gaze? (Support your opinion with examples.) How much can you learn this way?

The world through the carriage window is seen through the eyes of Huck. Huck doesn't just look out the window, he is interested in everything that happens there. He asks himself questions, ponders: “I wonder why he abandoned her (the cat)? She probably pulled something off the table ”; "I wonder what they are doing at this plant?" Huck sees pictures of rural life and a large plant; drives past endless forests. Next to the train in which the brothers are traveling, trains loaded with ore, coal and huge logs are moving. Chuck and Gek see a train with bulls and cows. “And at one crossing, they stopped side by side next to a mighty iron armored train. The cannons wrapped in tarpaulins stuck menacingly out of the turrets. The Red Army men stomped merrily, laughed and, clapping their mittens, warmed their hands. " Thus, from the train window, the heroes of the story saw different sides of the life of a huge country.

? with. 173 What difficulties did Muscovites encounter when they arrived at the small taiga station? What is the mother of the boys going through while waiting for the watchman? Suppose a family will have a difficult life in ten days?

When the guys and their mother arrived at the small taiga station, they found that no one was meeting them. Mother had to hire a driver herself to get to the geological exploration base where my father worked.

Find a passage from which it is clear what the boys' mother is going through while waiting for the watchman: “The mother sat down on the bench and thought. What happened, why is the base empty? What to do next? Go back? But she only had money left to pay the driver for the trip. So, one should have waited for the watchman to return. But the coachman will leave back in three hours, and what if the watchman takes it and will not return soon? Whereas? But it is almost a hundred kilometers from here to the nearest station and the telegraph office! "

It can be assumed that within ten days the family will have a difficult life in a forest hut. Capital, city dwellers, they are not accustomed to stoking the stove, going for water, stripping a hare shot down while hunting ... The stock of food in the gatehouse is very meager. Mother says that they will feel uncomfortable and scared in the forest: “How can we be left alone? We don't know anything here. And here is a forest, animals ... ".

Are the boys to blame for this situation? Why doesn't their mother punish them? Do Chuck and Geek acknowledge their guilt?

The boys, of course, are to blame for this situation: if they had not lost the telegram, the family would not have had to live for ten days in a forest house waiting for their father. Chuck and Huck realize their guilt: they both cry loudly and hide on the stove. The mother does not punish the boys, because at this moment she is very worried about what they all will do now (“She sighed, ordered her sons to get off the stove, wipe their noses and wash, and she herself began to ask the watchman how she should be now and what to do ").

? with. 173 What problems have "befallen" the Muscovites who find themselves in the taiga gatehouse? While talking about this, try not to miss anything.

During the time when Muscovites lived alone in a taiga hut, they had to solve such problems that they did not face in city life: chop and carry firewood; to heat the stove (“Mother did not know how to heat the Russian stove, and therefore the firewood did not burn for a long time”); think about how to scare forest animals away from their homes (“Newcomers locked the canopy, doors and, in order not to attract the animals with light, tightly curtained the windows with a doormat, although it was necessary to do quite the opposite…”); bake cakes from flour instead of bread ("The bread was running out, but the mother found flour and baked cakes").

? Tell your mother what happened to Huck. When do you start the story?

Now try to look at this story with Huck through the eyes of a watchman. What kind of person did this watchman turn out to be?

The task to tell about what happened to Huck, on behalf of the mother and from the point of view of the watchman, is interesting in that we have to imagine from what moment each of them witnessed everything that happened. Mother discovered Huck's disappearance when she and Chuk returned from the stream in the evening. And the watchman appeared when he heard the shots of his mother in the forest. In this difficult situation, he acted very quickly and decisively: he managed to get an agitated, crying mother to tell what happened; made my dog take a trail; guessed to open the lid of the chest in which Huck was sleeping. The watchman, who at first seemed to his mother gloomy and unfriendly, turned out to be a good, kind person: he “said that he was going hunting, and he himself was skiing to a distant gorge” and brought a letter from his father and a key to his room to his mother and brothers.

? with. 183 Can we say that no one in Moscow had such a wonderful holiday as Chuk and Gek? Why?
What feelings do visitors and members of the exploration expedition have for each other? What was the most important and solemn moment of the holiday? Justify your opinion.

Chuk and Gek, together with their mother, invented and made Christmas tree decorations themselves. The watchman brought them a wonderful tree from the forest: “… of course, no one had such a tree in Moscow. It was a real taiga beauty - tall, dense, straight and with branches that diverged at the ends like stars. " After a long separation, the boys saw their father. All members of the exploration expedition greeted them with joy.

The most solemn moment of the holiday was when everyone listened on the radio to the pre-New Year chimes of the Kremlin chimes. "And then all the people stood up, wished each other a Happy New Year, and wished everyone happiness."

Can you explain why New Year is the most favorite holiday for both children and adults? And why do people who live in different parts of our homeland celebrate the New Year twice: according to their local time and Moscow time?

The ringing of the Kremlin clock unites people in different parts of our country: "And this ringing - before the New Year - was now heard by people in cities, and in the mountains, in the steppes, in the taiga, on the blue sea." Hearing this ringing, people feel their involvement in the life of a huge country, in its rich history and unique culture.

New Year is always associated with the expectation of some kind of joyful changes, gifts. On New Year's Eve, the closest people, relatives and friends gather at the same table. Since childhood, this holiday has been associated with the atmosphere of a fairy tale and expectation of a miracle. And this atmosphere affects not only children, but also adults.

The events that Arkady Gaidar talks about happened recently or a long time ago? Why do you think so?

Once again, carefully review the entire text and find in it signs that the events that Arkady Gaidar talks about happened a long time ago (not in our time).

It can be noted that the text mentions the word “Red Army soldier” twice (Chuk kept candy wrappers “if a tank, an airplane, or a Red Army soldier was painted there”; near the military armored train, “the Red Army soldiers gaily stomped, laughed and, clapping mittens, warmed their hands”). Now a soldier of the Russian army is no longer called that. Chuk's box contained horsehair, which is difficult to get in our time in Moscow. Apparently, at the time the story is about, there were not only cars in Moscow, but there were also horses. In the same box, Chuk kept "three colored icons from the October holidays and money - forty-six kopecks, which he ... saved for the long journey." We have already read Dragoonsky's story "Exactly 25 Kilos" and we know that before forty-six kopecks you could buy a lot (p. 66 explains what could be bought for 15 kopecks). You can pay attention to the name of a part of the boys' clothes: "The watchman pulled off his hood from a nail and pushed Huck's galoshes under the dog's nose."
Bashlyk is an acute-angled cloth cap with long ends, which was worn over the hat for warmth. You can explain what galoshes are, because now they are no longer worn.

What changes in our life over time? And what remains unchanged for different generations of people, are the main values of life?

Over time, some external circumstances change in our life: the name of the army and the state itself, banknotes may change; clothes worn by people ... But for different generations of people they remain unchanged, the main values of life are such feelings as love of loved ones, help and support of friends, belief in a miracle, a sense of belonging to the history and culture of their country.
