Rosobrnadzor spoke about the exam. How long do the USE results last? A number of must-know innovations

The question "How long are the USE results valid?" worries schoolchildren who are not going to enter the university in the near future.

If they miss the deadline, they risk taking the exam again, which can be difficult.

At the same time, almost all universities refused to conduct their own entrance examinations.

Does the exam have a validity period

Before the appearance of a unified state exam in Russia, school graduates did not have to worry: to enter a university, they had to pass exams, they could do this at least immediately, at least after a few years.

Today, almost all higher educational institutions accept only the USE results, that is, applicants who did not take the USE must submit an application in advance (before spring) about their desire to take it so that they can be enrolled in the schoolchildren graduating this year.

But even if the applicant passed the exam, he may end up in a "flight" due to a missed deadline. In 2012, a law was adopted on the duration of the exam, today it is 4 years, starting from the next. That is, the shelf life of the result for 2018 expires in 2021 (2018-2019-2020-2021). After the applicant will have to take it again.

It is interesting: before the adoption of the law, the results were valid until the end of next year, that is, a student could use them twice - this year and next.

How long is the exam in 2013 valid

Taking into account the last point, it is easy to calculate how many USE certificates will be valid for 2013. Their term ends on December 31, 2018.

Citizens who did not enroll this year will have to retake the next exam.

To do this, they need to submit an application to the education management department at the place of registration for participation in the Unified State Exam by March. After the exam results can be submitted to several universities or used for the next 4 years.

Take into account: if applicants graduated from school before 2009 (before the introduction of the USE), they can take entrance exams chosen by the university itself, or send an application for participation in the USE on an equal basis with graduates.

How long is the exam in 2012

A separate problem arose with the results of exams for 2012.

Despite the fact that the law on deadlines was adopted in 2012, it came into force only in September 2013.

This raised a number of questions about the 2012 graduates, namely: how to be them? Do they qualify for this law or do they still have only 2 years to enroll?

Its useful to note: this happened due to the fact that the law itself was signed at the end of December 2012, that is, it came into force only from the next academic year.

The answer was a letter from the Ministry of Education No. DL-344/17 dated November 2013. It said that since at the time of the adoption of the law, the results of the USE for 2012 were still valid, they fall under the law and will be valid until 2016. However, today it is no longer so important, since 2016 has also passed.

The introduction of the Unified State Exam as a single exam for both graduation from school and for admission to a university has caused a lot of controversy. However, the fact that the results of the delivery will be stored for 4 years allows applicants not to rush to choose an educational institution or even change it if necessary.

Watch the video in which the user explains whether to appeal the USE results:

Not every graduate seeks to decide his future for the next few years immediately after passing the exam. Some want to postpone and understand where they really want to go. Others are sent to serve in the army. Therefore, for many, the question of the expiration date of the received certificate is relevant.

Until 2012, the exam results were relevant for only a year and a half. But the rules have changed. The validity period of the certificate has increased significantly.

Unified State Exam 2013

The exam results obtained in 2013 are valid for four years. They will expire in December 2017. 2017 is the last chance to go somewhere with the results of 2013. Fortunately, the exam can always be retaken, even with actual results.

Unified State Exam 2014

The USE passed in 2014 is valid until 2018. Also - for four years. In 2014, it was decided to cancel the issuance of results on paper. All results are available in digital format, making life much easier for graduates.

Everyone receives a personal login and password for the site, where you can find out your personal results at any time. And you can print the certificate at the request of the student.

Unified State Exam 2015

The Unified State Exam 2015 is valid until 2019. The deadline expires in December.

If you wish, you can retake the USE if you are unhappy with the result. Both received certificates will be valid. You can represent any of them, if you wish.

USE 2016

The results of the USE passed in 2016 will be valid until 2020. Also 4 years, the terms have not changed recently.

USE 2017

If you passed the USE in 2017, then the results obtained will be valid until 2021. No changes are expected.

How long are the exam results valid?

Exam year Shelf life
2013 4 years (until 2017)
2014 4 years (until 2018)
2015 4 years (until 2019)
2016 4 years (until 2020)
2017 4 years (until 2021)

Initially, the validity period of the Unified State Exam was very short: 1.5 years. But modern certificates are active for 4 years. Will there be new changes - time will tell.

The USE results are relevant for 4 years starting from the year following the final certification. This standard, established for the first time in 2012, has been in effect from 2013 to the present and is reflected in the latest edition (dated June 27, 2018) of the Federal Law “On Education in the Russian Federation”.

This means that the results of the final certification obtained in 2017 can be presented to admissions committees until the end of 2021, and the points received for the exam in 2018 will be taken into account when applying from 2019 to 2022. Graduates of 2019 can take advantage of the certificate of the results of the exam, which has not been issued in paper form since 2018, but is entered into a single information base, until the end of 2023.

Who cares about it?

  1. Graduates who are called up for military service after graduating from high school do not need to worry. After serving the due date, young people use certificates with the results of final certification for admission to a higher educational institution. It is important to exercise this right within the period specified in the law - 4 years after receiving the certificate of final attestation.
  2. All graduates who, for some reason (family circumstances, illness, etc.) have postponed admission to higher educational institutions, will not have to apply for retaking the Unified State Exam within the next 4 years. If the decision to continue studying was formed after this period, in order to enter the university, you will have to take exams again.
  3. Graduates who have continued their studies in technical schools, colleges and other vocational schools after leaving school often decide to pursue higher education. Since it takes at least 2 years to obtain secondary vocational training, having received a diploma, you can have time to enter a university.

What to do if the certificate of the USE results is expired?

If the decision to enter a university is ripe, when the deadlines for the once passed Unified State Exam are no longer valid, you will have to pass the final certification again. To do this, you need to find out where the nearest point is located, in which the application will be accepted. Information about such items, application form, required documents, deadlines, etc. is available on the official USE portal ege.edu.ru.

At the recommended point for passing the exam, they will accept an application and advise on all issues. After successfully passing the exams, the results will also be valid for 4 years, the countdown of which will start from the next year after re-certification.

Rosobrnadzor told about the exam

Representatives of Rosobrnadzor and FIPI spoke at an online conference about the specifics of the USE in 2017.

We bring to your attention the most important points to which you should pay attention.

What if I didn't have time to apply for the exam before February 1?
If you did not have time to decide on the subject of your choice in the right time frame just because you thought for a long time, then it’s too late to change anything. The only exception is if there is a good reason why you were unable to apply and the exam is required. Such reasons may include illness, business trip, or military service. In any case, the examination committee must be provided with documents that will confirm them. Then you can add a subject at least two weeks before the exam.

Can I just skip the exam?
If this is an optional exam, but then you realized that you don't need it, then you don't have to come - there are no penalties for this, and the certificate will still be issued. However, if you decide to come to the missed exam on a reserve day, then you must provide the commission with documents confirming a good reason for missing it. In any case, carefully weigh the pros and cons before not going to the exam. Perhaps you will still need it.

What if I “failed” the obligatory exam?
You are unlikely to stay for the second year, because this is usually not practiced. If one of the compulsory exams (Russian or mathematics) is written below the passing score, then it can be retaken in reserve time. If you fail to pass it the second time, then you will not be given a certificate.
In this case, the subject can be taken again in the fall (at the same time, you can retake the Unified State Exam if both obligatory exams are "overwhelmed"). And if the exam did not give in this time, then the ill-fated exam can be written again together with the graduates of the next year. And so - until it turns out to pass. So there is no way to fail the exam.

How long do the USE results last?
According to the current rules, the USE results are valid for 4 years. Moreover, for those who want to get a second higher education, it is not necessary to take the exam.

Can I take the exam after grade 10?
This year 10th graders can also take the Unified State Exam. But only if the application is submitted on time (before February 1) and certain conditions are met. As you know, the study of some subjects - for example, the Russian language and geography - ends in grade 10. Thus, it is possible to pass these subjects if the student's final grade for them is higher than two.
Another case concerns adolescents who study individually (family or distance learning). If, by the end of the 10th grade, such a student has completed a full course in a particular subject and received permission from the teacher's council, then he can take part in the exam on an equal basis with eleventh graders.

What are the ways to pass exams, besides the exam?
For disabled people, children with disabilities and students with disabilities, along with the USE, another form of passing is provided - the state final exam (GEE). But it has drawbacks: it is also carried out automatically and cannot be an entrance test for a university.

What is the validity period of certificates obtained in 2019-2020 and later?

With the introduction of the new Federal Law "On Education in the Russian Federation" dated December 29, 2012 No. 273-FZ, the rules that establish how long the USE results are valid have also changed. So, in Art. 70 of this RLA defines the norms that universities should use when organizing the admission of applicants wishing to study under bachelor's or specialist's programs.

After reading these norms, it becomes clear how many years the USE results are valid: 4 years, starting from the next one after passing the USE. In practice, applicants must calculate how long the results of the 2019 exam are valid, as follows: their results will be valid until 2023. It turns out that a school graduate can postpone his admission to a university for several years, and he will not have to pass the final certification again.

Separately, it is worth considering how much the exam-2019 is valid for conscripts. Now the term of service in the army is 1 year. And since the USE results are valid for 4 years, then after the soldier returns from service, you can safely use them.

Interesting: the answer to the question: "How long is the USE valid?" - may have a different answer in one case. In accordance with clause 4.5 of Art. 15 of Law No. 273-FZ, conscripts within a year after dismissal have the right to use the USE results obtained 12 months before conscription. Additional conditions for the granting of such eligibility are admission to study on a budgetary basis in an accredited institution of higher or secondary specialized education.

How old was the Unified State Exam valid until 2011 inclusive

Download the certificate form

In view of the changes in the rules for admission to universities, which occurred simultaneously with the adoption of the new law No. 273-FZ, graduates who graduated from school before its adoption, especially in 2012, began to ask the urgent question of how long the USE results of 2012 and earlier are valid. It is due to the fact that, according to the new law, the USE results can be applied for 4 years.

Don't know your rights?

From 2009 until the entry into force of the new rules, graduates were issued a certificate in which the results of their passing the final attestation at the end of school were recorded. So, this certificate was valid for the year when the exams were passed, and the next year until December 31, inclusive. Thus, before a graduate could enter a university only 2 years in a row after passing the exam (as it was established in the old Federal Law "On Education" dated 10.07.1992 No. 3266-1), and now 4.

The most problematic was to determine how long the Unified State Exam in 2012 is valid as the year in which the new rules were adopted. Since the law came into force in September 2013, after the final certification was passed, the new rules, in fact, should only apply to graduates of 2013. But in the letter of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation dated November 20, 2013 No. DL-344/17, when asked how long the Unified State Exam-2012 is valid, the following answer was given: until 2016. The department explains this by the fact that at the time of the adoption of the new law, certificates issued in 2012 and 2013 were in use.

To understand how long the 2019 exam is valid, you need to refer to Law No. 273-FZ. It is in it that the validity of the results of the final attestation in schools has been extended from 1.5 to 4 years. Now graduates of 2019 can take advantage of the USE until 2023 inclusive.

Most importantly, the answer to the question of how long the USE-2019 is valid will most likely not change. Even if a new law appears, it is unlikely that it will have retroactive effect.
